Hotel Des Indes Menteng

Hotel Des Indes was once one of the oldest and most prestigious hotels in Asia. Located in Batavia in the Dutch East Indies, the original hotel accommodated countless famous patrons throughout its existence from the 1800s to the 1950s. Before being named Hotel Des Indes, a named suggested by the writer Multatuli, it was called ‘Hotel de Provence’ by its first French owner and for a short spell went the name ‘Hotel Rotterdam’. After Indonesian independence it was renamed ‘Hotel Duta Indonesia’. Until it was demolished in 1971.

Hotel Des Indes Menteng is an effort to revive the brand, the traditions and the legacy of our heritage. From Dutch colonial architecture to the details of the fine furnishings, the lovingly newly rebuilt grand hotel, featuring the intimacy of a boutique hotel, unites tradition with modern elegance. Located in the upscale Menteng district, the new Hotel Des Indes is a tribute to Indonesian heritage that we should all celebrate.
