Lombok Island has virgin white beaches, an age-culture separated by merely a narrow strait from Bali. It is in fact a reflection of the motto: “You can see Bali in Lombok but not Lombok in Bali”. The Balinese people still make up an important minority in the western part of the island. Lombok is a new tourist destination and can be reached in 20 minutes by air or 3 hours by sea from Bali.
