The Most Challenging Wedding We Have Ever Handled
September 5th, 2018 became one of the most important days for Gunawan & Lydia, as well as their families and friends. Their big day was full of joy and laughter. Everything was warm and relaxed. In spite of the fact that this wedding was so warm and relaxed, this wedding was surely one of the most interesting and challenging weddings we have had.
Gunawan & Lydia’s big day took place at Aston Hotel in Cirebon. During our first venue visit, we noticed that the wind there was crazy at noon until night. That was why we didn’t use any draperies on their wedding. This was probably the most challenging part: how to treat this wind issue with thoughtful design to prevent any damages. Not to mention that the spot chosen to be the stage area was exactly where the wind blew most rapidly. So, we came up with a really simple idea of using thin lines as main accent. It was a technical respond to strong wind; we didn’t cover it, we let the wind blew through freely. But, this was the most interesting part about the stage: from the front it looked like thin lines, but if you looked from a certain angle, it showed vertical planes other than lines. This view was definitely our favorite.
As the theme was rustic, most of the spots were decorated with tree branches and twigs, red and white flowers, and light bulbs. The white gazebo was the perfect place for a dance floor, so we just added fairy lights at the top to kick it up a notch. Round gazebo adorned with lots and lots of hanging fairy lights swayed smoothly by the wind almost all the time. It was magical, looked like they were dancing under thousands of stars. The white gazebo was one of people’s favorite spots from their wedding.
The Tea Pai for Gunawan & Lydia was also interesting. We love the setting for their not-so-typical Tea Pai. It had wood panels for background and was held outdoor. It was so gorgeous!
We’re so happy to be taking part in Gunawan & Lydia’s big day. We wish their love would be getting stronger and stronger from this day forward.
